Butterfly valve is a kind of valve. It is the control unit in the fluid conveying system. It has the function of cutting off and regulating the flow of fluid in the pipeline system.Butterfly valve is one of the most widely used valves. It can be used to control the air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil and other types of fluid flow.It is not only widely used in petroleum, gas, chemical, water treatment and other general industries, but also used in municipal construction, water conservancy projects, and even thermal power plant cooling water system above. As a control unit, butterfly valves need to be serviced periodically. Here are some notes for butterfly valve maintenance:
1.In the process of work, the butterfly valve needs to be periodically fully open and fully closed operation to maintain the flexibility of the valve parts lubricity. This can avoid rust.
2. When we close the butterfly valve, if the butterfly valve is not tightly closed, it can be fully opened again. At this point, we can use the pressure of the fluid in the pipe to flush the impurities away from the inner wall of the valve body, and then close the valve again.
3. We need to filter the impurities in the pipeline as much as possible to prevent the sealing surface from being squeezed when the butterfly valve is closed, resulting in the valve not being completely closed and leaking. Otherwise this will cause a safety hazard.
4.The butterfly valve opening state is greater than 15°. That is because if the butterfly valve is in a state of large throttle, the back of the butterfly plate is prone to cavitation and the valve is damaged.
5.When the butterfly valve is in the middle opening, the operating mechanism needs to be self-locking.
6. We need to prevent mechanical damage to the butterfly valve. Do not let the airborne deposits, chemicals, humid gases and other substances erode the valve and affect the quality of the valve.
7.The parts of the butterfly valve thread, bearing, gear and other working interfaces should be lubricated regularly.
